Encountering intrusive constructed elements within the landscape, my response is to highlight their presence and subvert expectations by extracting and placing them within a white neutral field, emphasising their existence. This is in opposition to their conventionally diminished context.
As part of my final major project at university, I was tasked with creating a gallery ready body of work as a final outcome for the project. This meant that I had to create and adhere to a timescale for the production of the work as well as a budget. I also created a layout of the work as I had envisioned it looking on the gallery wall, this meant that when it came round to hanging the work up in the gallery space, it was clear of my intentions of the overall look of the work.
Once the work was finalised, the images were professionally printed by a company using C-type matte prints mounted onto Dibond with batten fixings. This enabled me to attach the images onto the gallery wall when the time came. The grey area of the wall was measured and painted to the same scale as I had previously planned so that the images had enough space.
The images themselves are highlighting the imperfections of the natural landscape that mankind has placed in plain sight.
